One of Steven's customers can barely lift his huge catch !
Check out these latest photos below from a March 2014 excursion to Luxor taken by Annette - one of Steven's customers. The first three photos show the Marsa Alam Edfu road which follows what was an ancient road connecting the emerald mines of the coastal area with the ancient city of Thebes (now known as Luxor). The first part of the road winds through the mountains and despite the arid conditions you'll see a large number of acacia trees. Their deep routes are able to tap into the underground water left from precipitation near the mountain peaks and also what remains from occasional rain storms which may occur once every few years.

PHOTO 2: ONE OF STEVEN'S DRIVERS GEORGE AND HIS PASSENGER ANNETTE ON THE ROAD TO EDFU AND LUXOR.
PHOTO 3: THE ROAD ACROSS THE HIGH PLATEAU FOLLOWS THE ANCIENT ROUTE TO EDFU AND LUXOR.
4: ONCE AT LUXOR ANNETTE'S ENJOYED ALL THE SITES AND SNAPPED THIS GREAT PHOTO OF KARNAK TEMPLE.

Satefy update 15 November 2013:
Most countries that imposed temporary restrictions on travel to the Red Sea coast of Egypt have now cancelled the travel advice caution. No tourists in the Red Sea area were reported injured or hurt as a result of political protests and clashes in Egypt earlier in the summer but the situation for tourists now is even safer. In fact the Red Sea resorts are probably one of the safest destinations for tourists in the world.
Additionally 18 countries, including the British Foreign Office, have now lifted their advice against travelling to Aswan and Luxor.
There is no major town close to Marsa Alam. Cairo is eight hours by car from Marsa Alam. Alexandria is ten hours. The tiny town of Marsa Alam and the surrounding area is situated in a very remote and quiet part of Egypt. It is still very safe and people are enjoying their holiday and being very warmly welcomed. The British Foreign Office detailed advice is not advising against travel to the Marsa Alam area.
There is no curfew now anywhere in Egypt as far as we are aware and both the British Foreign Office and returning tourists continue to view it as safe. Despite the images from Cairo ( which is hundreds of miles away ) in the media during August, most tourists in the remote Marsa Alam area consider it to be actually less dangerous than most European cities.

HILARIOUS BUT EMBARRASSING TRIP ADVISOR GLITCH -
Don't believe all you read on Trip Advisor about Marsa Alam. There seems to have been a hilarious but embarrassing translation glitch with a review for Kahramana Resort posted two days ago - It reads "Great beach service, the boy cute and great tasting." (13 July 2013) My translation software renders the original Italian quite differently as "Great beach service, the boy cute and also good."
Perhaps best to check up on your translation software before starting your holiday to avoid any misunderstandings. And don't forget that Trip Advisor ratings of hotels are also sometimes questionable as it has been alleged that some people are posting fake reviews to give some resorts ratings that they wouldn't otherwise deserve.

Marsa Alam is a truly enchanting paradise !
The World's warmest sea with spectacular coral reefs.
Every day is virtually guaranteed sunshine.
A great place for safaris through the desert and mountains.
The best place in the world to chill out and relax.
Please use this website as your free guide to what to do and where to stay.
Twenty years ago Marsa Alam was little more than a sleepy fishing village, but the region's beautiful beaches and its' virgin reefs are set to make it a prime holiday spot. Our advice is to go before the crowds discover it.
Much of Marsa's spectacular coral reefed coastline remains virtually untouched by man and the region offers spectacular and magical moments such as this video of Dennis the Dugong on YouTube.
Al Nada Resort is a four star hotel, 23km south of the airport which is unsurpassed in terms of value and service. The resorthas 270 large well equipped rooms and a stunning reception with panoramic Nubian murals and views across the beach towards a private marina and coral reef favoured by dolphins.
You can also unwind in the hotel's health club which draws customers from neighbouring hotels, as well as VIPs from Cairo, with its' legendary Cleopatra beauty and massage programme.
You can't beat Marsa Alam for a memorable vacation !
