2. EL NAABA LAGOON NEAR EQUINOX EL NAABA HOTEL.
A deep water lagoon about 30km north of Marsa Alam town, 30km south of Marsa Alam airport and 1km south of Al Naaba Equinox Hotel. It's separated from the open sea by a coral reef. The water is normally flat but a little choppy when the wind is strong.
There is Giant Bay suitable for the experienced and experts and Baby Bay a little further to the south with its' super flat waters which is better for beginners and those wishing to perfect more complicated moves.
There are kite surfing lessons and guidance available for all levels of experience - please contact Steven at steven@marsaalam.com
3. LAHAMI BAY
Here, some 140km south of Marsa Alam town, the reef forms a large lagoon (around 2 X 3km) which makes for perfect flat waters which are mostly of wadable depth. Entrance to the lagoon is from a sandy beach so there's no difficulty in access. The water though normally flat can be a little choppy when there is a strong wind.
Advanced kitesurfers might like to explore the deeper waters and the mangrove shorelines while beginners are advised to follow closely the advice of their instructors and to keep to the lagoon.
During July and August water levels drop making the area available for kitesurfing restricted to a narrower channel area.
