LOCATION

Utopia Beach is situated 47 km (29 miles) north of Marsa Alam Airport, just off the coastal road and 22 km (14 miles) south of El Quseir, an historic port town with an Ottoman castle, but 110 km (68 miles) north of the town of Marsa Alam.

ROOM FACILITIES

Even the standard rooms at Utopia Beach come with air conditioning, a room safe, minibar, telephone, iron and ironing board, kettle, baby cot on request, bathroom with shower, hairdryer, slippers, satellite TV, wake-up service and terrace or balcony.

HOTEL FACILITIES

Utopia Beach has either two or three restaurants dependent on the season. The main Sultan restaurant, offering buffet meals with a choice of pool or inside seating, the a la carte Island seafood restaurant, which is open on the bay shore on Wednesday evenings during the summer, and the international Al Amira restaurant, with an outdoor garden terrace, enticing guests with both buffet and al la carte options.

Those wishing to cool off with a relaxing soda or cocktail are spoiled for choice with four bars. There’s the Sharouk Lobby Bar, open 10 am to midnight daily, the Sunset Terrace Bar, open 24 hours with magical sunset views, the Shalal Pool Bar, open 10 am to 5 pm, and last, but not least, the Lagoon Beach Pool Bar, open 10 am to 6 pm, which also serves pizza and pasta meals, possibly from 11 am to 5 pm.

The resort also offers an animation team, a spa and wellness centre, fitness centre, diving centre, children’s playground, three swimming pools including slides and a children’s pool, currency exchange, diving, games room, hairdresser,  doctor, laundry,  limousine service,  mini-football,  parking, table tennis,  private beach, tennis court, table football,  volleyball, meeting facilities suitable for up to 120 guests and free Wifi.

ON TRIPADVISOR

On TripAdvisor, as of 29 May 2026, Utopia Beach Club had achieved a highly impressive ranking of 1st of 43 places to stay in the El Quseir region in terms of best value, and 7th out of 18 hotels in terms of traveller ranking, with a strong average rating of 4.4 out of 5 bubbles based on 4,051 reviews, with 86.0% of reviewers rating it as either “very good” or “excellent” (up from 85.4% in June 2025 and a record high compared to any previous time I checked), while only 6.3% of reviewers (a new low) rated it as either “poor” or “terrible.” Rating statistics for various dates since 2013 are given further down this page.

ON BOOKING.COM

Meanwhile on Booking.com, as of 29 May 2026, Utopia Beach Club had achieved an impressive improvement since October 2024, leaping upwards from an overall “very good” 8.4 rating to a “superb” rating of 9.0 out of 10, based on 247 reviews with the following scores for the various categories – highest first

ON GOOGLE AND HOLIDAYCHECK

As of 29 May 2026, Utopia Beach Club had obtained a favourable score of 4.4 out of 5 on Google Reviews based on 3,190 reviews, up from a score of 4.3 the last time I checked the review rating in June 2025.

Meanwhile on Holidaycheck.de Utopia Beach scored a very respectable 5.2 out of a maximum six stars (as of 29 May 2026), based on 3,134 2,627 reviews, which equals the best result I’ve seen for the resort (see the figures for previous years further down this page). A reassuring 92% of reviewers (up from 90% in June 2025) said that they would recommend the hotel, with the following scores out of a maximum of six for the various categories – highest first.

ON TOPHOTELS.RU

As of 20 June 2025, Utopia Beach Club scored a competitive overall performance on Tophotels.ru, achieving a good average rating of 4.17 out of 5, but based on only 26 ratings and reviews. 20 guests (77% of reviewers) recommended the resort, 3 guests (12%) abstained from commenting and only 3 guests (less than 12%) stated that they would not recommend the hotel. The resort achieved the following scores, out of a maximum of five, for the various categories –

You might notice that the ratings for internet or WiFi (on TopHotels.ru it is defined as the “speed and quality of internet connection”) at 3.3 out of 5 lags behind the very high average guest ratings for other categories, even though the WiFi score (9.1 out of 10) is impressive in the 2026 Booking.com ratings. I’m not sure if this difference might be due to the different experience of the guests or a possible different time frame during which the majority of the ratings from each website were made. Anyway, if you prefer to have an alternative connection available in the hotel and still have a connection when outside the resort, it could be worthwhile ordering a local SIM card delivered – see this website’s SIM card page.
