THE THREE CORNERS EQUINOX BEACH RESORT

Three Corners Equinox guests seem to be happiest about the “smiling staff, great location, relaxing atmosphere,” “stunning coral reefs” and “beautiful sunsets.” The hotel is highly recommended for divers, snorkelers, wind surfers and kite surfers who can also enjoy the service and facilities of a greatly improved resort. It is also suitable for families as it has one of the few beaches in the Marsa Alam area where you can wade directly into the sea. 

ROOMS

Three Corners Equinox has 218 rooms arranged across four buildings on three floors. Each room comes with a furnished terrace or balcony with a full or partial sea view. There is a wide choice of room types including –

ROOM FACILITIES

All rooms come with a furnished terrace or balcony enjoying a full or partial sea view. They are also all air-conditioned and all have an ensuite bathroom, minibar, hair dryer, Wi-Fi, satellite TV and a safe deposit box.

LOCATION

Three Corners Equinox is located approximately 25 minute by taxi (30 km/19 miles) south of Marsa Alam Airport and also about the same distance (32 km/20 miles) north of the town of Marsa Alam. The setting is one of the hotel’s main attractions, being situated on El Naaba Bay and beach, which is a favourite for snorkelling, diving and kitesurfing. HOTEL FACILITIES

As with all the main resorts around Marsa Alam, Three Corners Equinox has a main buffet restaurant, and this one boasts 250 seats and a sea view while offering alternating themed nights, such as Wonders of the Far East, French Romance, Oriental Night and a Taste of Italy. Meanwhile for pasta and pizza lovers, there’s also an Italian restaurant, the à la carte Dolce Vita. Its open air terrace affords a spectacular vantage point, with panoramic sea, beach and mountain views.

You are spoiled for choice for bars with a total of four, the Pool Bar, the Beach Bar, the Lounge Bar, the Panorama Bar & Eatery, while you can also have soft drinks at Nubian Corner and smokers can enjoy a shisha.

The resort also offers two outdoor swimming pools, each with a children’s swimming area, a friendly animation team, Nubian shows, belly dancing, beach volleyball, table tennis, wireless internet, shopping, well tended gardens, safe deposit box at reception and at one time the hotel was even offering lectures on Arabic language and Egyptology (but please check to see if they’re still available.)

The crown jewels of Three Corners Equinox are the 1,300 metre long beach and a fully licensed private marina 500 metres from the hotel. Its jetty is 230 metres long and the marina itself is 5 metres wide and able to accommodate up to 25 boats. You can also find a diving school and centre, Extra Divers Equinox, on the beach allowing direct access to the 900 metres long coral reef, of which one Tripadvisor reviewer commented

“The variety of fish and other marine life is very good as was the visibility…. Having been to both the Maldives & Seychelles the coral here is better,” adding that “If you want to dive there is a dive school on site with a good reputation.” [ Chris S. from Ashford, UK 29.05.2023 ]

When it comes to ratings on TripAdvisor, Three Corners Equinox is probably a leading contender for the most improved hotel in the Marsa Alam region over the last 10 years. As of 28 May 2026, the resort was ranked at a respectable 41st out of 102 resorts in the region in terms of best value, 25th out of 41 resorts and 58th out of 116 hotels in terms of traveller rankings, with an enviable average rating of 4.7 out of 5 bubbles, based on 4,416 guest reviews. The strong overall rating of 4.7 marked a significant improvement from the already respectable rating of 4.5 it had fifteen months earlier in February 2025.

Although its relative ranking is little changed on its position in recent years, it represents a huge improvement on its ranking from its earlier humble rank of 49th out of 64 in July 2013, when the resort was under different management.

There has also been a marked increase in the proportion of reviewers rating the resort as either “very good” or “excellent.” 94.9% as of 28 May 2026, compared to 90.7% in February 2018 and just 46% back in July 2013. Conversely, the proportion of reviewers rating the resort as either “poor” or “terrible” dropped sharply from 32% in July 2013, to 2.1% by February 2018 and to just 1.9% by 28 May 2026. ON BOOKING.COM

Meanwhile on Booking.com, as of 28 May 2026, Three Corners Equinox achieved a “very good” rating of 8.3 out of 10, based on 155 reviews, which represented a significant improvement on its already respectable rating of 8.1 in June 2025.

Although I wasn’t able to find the ratings broken down for the various categories of hotel facilities and services, the previous time I checked in June 2025, the resort achieved the following scores, also out of a maximum of 10 – highest first. However, please bear in mind that, given the overall improvement in the resort score since June 2025, it is likely some or all of these categories may also have improved significantly on an already impressive performance.

BUYING A SIM CARD COULD BE A GOOD OPTION

Please note that while the hotel’s scores for comfort, cleanliness, staff, location and facilities are all excellent (the last time I was able to see them listed in June 2025), the WiFi score back then lagged a long way behind. The WiFi service may well have improved since then, but it’s always a good idea to obtain a good value local SIM card which might be more reliable and faster than a hotel connection and which you can use anywhere in Egypt. ON GOOGLE AND HOLIDAYCHECK

As of 28 May 2026, Three Corners Equinox scored a respectable rating of 4.6 out of a maximum of five based on 3,548 Google Reviews and, as of the same date, it also achieved a very impressive rating of 5.3 on Holidaycheck.de out of a maximum six stars based on 1,915 ratings (up from 5.2 in June 2025 and the highest score I’ve yet recorded), with an overwhelming 95% of reviewers (up from 91%) declaring that they would recommend the hotel, with the following scores out of a maximum of six for the various categories – highest first.

ON TOPHOTELS.RU

As of 28 May 2026, Three Corners Equinox scored a very strong overall performance on Tophotels.ru, achieving an enviable average rating of 4.63 out of  5, but based on only 51 ratings and reviews. 45 reviewers (88%) recommended the resort, just 6 (12%) abstained from commenting and nobody stated that they would not recommend the hotel.
