THE THREE CORNERS EQUINOX BEACH RESORT

Three Corners Equinox guests are happiest about the “stunning dives” and the “great beaches.” The hotel is highly recommended for divers, snorkelers, wind surfers and kite surfers who don’t mind a fairly average standard of hotel. It is also good for families as it has one of the few beaches in the Marsa Alam area where you can wade directly into the sea.

LOCATION

Approximately a 25 minute drive (30 km/19 miles) south of Marsa Alam Airport and also about a 25 minute drive (32 km/20 miles) north of the town of Marsa Alam.

HOTEL FACILITIES

A private marina 500 metres from the hotel. It’s 230 metres long and 5 metres wide and can accommodate up to 25 boats. As with all the main resorts around Marsa Alam, there is a main restaurant, and this hotel’s boasts 250 seats and a sea view. There’s also an Italian restaurant, a beach BBQ, a snack bar, a three metre deep outdoor swimming pool, Nubian shows, belly dancing, beach volleyball, table tennis, wireless internet, shopping, safe deposit box at reception and at one time the hotel was even offering lectures on Arabic language and Egyptology (but please check to see if they’re still available.)

GUEST REVIEWS

When it comes to ratings on TripAdvisor, Three Corners Equinox is probably a leading contender for the most improved hotel in the Marsa Alam region. As of 17 March 2021, the resort was ranked at an impressive 12th out of 77 resorts in the region. Although that’s little changed on its position of 10th out of 69 in May 2019 or 13th out of 68 in February 2018, it still represents a huge improvement on its ranking of 34th of 74 in January 2017 and an even bigger leap upwards from its earlier humble rank of 49th out of 64 in July 2013, when the resort was under different management.

There has also been a marked increase in the proportion of reviewers rating the resort as either “very good” or “excellent.” 94.0% as of 17 March 2021, compared to 90.7% in February 2018 and just 46% back in July 2013. Meanwhile, the proportion of reviewers rating the resort as either “poor” or “terrible” dropped sharply from 32% in July 2013, to 9% by January 2017 and to just 1.5% by 17 March 2021. TRIPADVISOR RATINGS – JUL 2013 TO MAR 2021

On Holidaycheck, as of 17 March 2021, Three Corners Equinox scored an impressive 5.2 out of six stars, unchanged on May 2019 but up significantly from its already respectable 4.8 out of six stars back in July 2013, with the highest average scores for service at 5.4 (up 0.1 on May 2019), gastronomy at 5.1 (unchanged on 2019) and sport and entertainment also at 5.1 – and also unchanged on 2019. The resort achieved slightly lower, but still creditable, ratings for location at 5.0 (unchanged on May 2019) and rooms at 4.7, the only decliner – slipping slightly from a level of 4.9 recorded in 2019. Notably, the percentage of Holidaycheck reviewers saying they would recommend the hotel edged upwards a little further to a highly admirable level of 93% (up from 92% in 2019).
