AMARAYA CLUB

This resort has been referred to in the recent past as Kaharamana Gardens Resort and sometimes as Amaraya Club, which can be confusing. As of 30 May 2026, it seems from the absence of recent reviews on either Tripadvisor (last review 2019) or Holidaycheck (last review 2010) that the resort might be closed or may have changed its name so please check with the resort or your agent before booking.

LOCATION

Amaraya Club is situated 38 km (24 miles) south of Marsa Alam Airport and 23 km (14 miles) north of Marsa Alam town.

ROOMS

108, including 58 standard rooms, 10 family rooms and 40 family chalets of which half are ground floor with direct access to the pool.  Each chalet is comprised of two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room and a small kitchen. 

ROOM FACILITIES

Air conditioning, smoking rooms, cable/satellite TV, wake-up calls, minibar, housekeeping, extra towels, linens, bedding, private bathroom, complimentary toiletries, hair dryer, window opens, direct-dial phone, internet access – surcharge, shower/tub combination.

HOTEL FACILITIES

Nine bars and restaurants including a main restaurant offering buffet dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and Planet Bedouin, a genuine Bedouin tent located on the beach offering oriental drinks and shisha ( water pipes.)

There’s also the Mine Pub and Discotheque with music and dancing. Outside there is a kids’ club with indoor and outdoor playground as well as two tennis courts, mini beach football and a beach volleyball court. A diving and water sports centre as well as as a horse riding area can be found on the beach. Other facilities include sauna, laundry, room service (24 hours), dry cleaning, fitness equipment, air-conditioned public areas, swimming pool – outdoor, private beach, bar/lounge, poolside bar, gift shop, coffee shop/cafe, internet public area – surcharge, massage-treatment room, billiards, complimentary breakfast, shopping mall, concierge desk, secretarial services. 

GUEST REVIEWS

As of 30 May 2026, we were uncertain as to whether I could find the correct TripAdvisor review page listed for this resort possibly because it might have changed to a different name. There is still a page under the title Amaraya Club but the last review posted relates to a stay back in June 2019 and the ratings are therefore too dated to be relevant.

Tripadvisor currently ranks Amaraya Club (as of 30 May 2026) 111th of 116 hotels in the Marsa Alam region, but that is based on just 14 old reviews, with 7 (50%) reviewers describing the resort as “very good” and 4 (28.6%) as either “poor” or “terrible.” Another 3 described it as “average”.

Previously (as of 13th February 2017) Kahramana Gardens (as it was then sometimes known) was ranked 45th out of 75 hotels in the region, not a big change from its former rank of 37th out of 66 hotels in August 2013. 77% of reviewers rated it as either “very good” or “excellent” (down from 81% in August 2013) while only 7% rated it as either “poor” or “terrible” (a slight improvement on the 8% who rated it as “poor” or “terrible” in August 2013.)

As of 30 May 2026, the last reviews posted on Holidaycheck dated back to November 2010.

When we had previously checked on 13th February 2017, the resort had an average score of 4.5 stars ( up from 4.0 stars in August 2013 ) with the best scores for sport at 4.8 ( up from 4.2 in 2013 ), service at 4.7 ( down slightly from 4.8 in 2013 ) and rooms at 4.6 ( a big improvement from just 3.8 in 2013 ) and lower scores for gastronomy at 4.0 ( a slight improvement on its score of 3.9 in 2013 )  and location also at 4.0 ( well up on its 2013 rating of just 3.2).
