LOCATION

Pickalbatros Portofino Vita is located approximately 38 km (24 miles) south of Marsa Alam airport and 26 km (16 miles) north of the town of Marsa Alam.

ROOM FACILITIES  

Even the standard rooms have all the usual amenities for your comfort and convenience such as air conditioning, a hairdryer, safe deposit box, tea/coffee maker, minibar, free toiletries and complimentary WIFI.

HOTEL FACILITIES

These include the Alfredo restaurant offering a “buffet spread of authentic Italian cuisine,” five other restaurants (El Khan, Shell fish, Bella Chicken, Soprano and Mediterranean) and you’re equally spoiled for choice for bars – there are six – (Lobby, Columbus, Pool, Terrace, Beach, Red Sky and Sports), as well as car parking, laundry, two swimming pools with a separate pool for children; a kid’s club, a beach volleyball court, a scenic running track and a fitness centre, whether “you’re seeking a high-intensity  work out or a calming yoga session.”

You can also discover “the perfect blend of relaxation and exhilaration” at the Adult’s Aqua Park while children can have “endless fun and safe water play” at the Kid’s Aqua Park. Finally there’s the private beach with access to an amazing snorkelling opportunities at the house reef as well as tennis courts and football pitches.

Some years ago, when the resort was still known as Kahramana Resort, the well reputed travel guide – Lonely Planet Egypt described it as having an “attractive beach, a good Italian restaurant and diving centre.”

Pickalbatros Portofino Vita’s achievement as of 24 May 2026 on Tripadvisor is simply spectacular. Renovated from the former Karhamana Resort, which back in March 2021 had a slightly below average ranking of 39th out of 77, the resort now stands 9th out of 116 properties in the Marsa Alam region based on traveller rankings from 764 reviews. Moreover it has a jaw dropping average of 4.9 out of 5.0 bubbles – virtually a perfect score.

You will therefore probably not be surprised to learn that 98.2% of reviewers rated the resort as either “very good” or “excellent,” while just a fraction of one percent (0.9%) rated it as either “poor” or “terrible”.

Meanwhile on Booking.com, as of 24 May 2026, Pickalbatros Portofino Vita scored an exceptional 9.8 rating (out of 10) based on 935 reviews. Unfortunately I could not find Booking.com ratings for the various categories of hotel services and facilities listed, but back in June 2025 the hotel acheived the following scores out of a maximum of 10 for the various categories – with five of the seven categories achieving a highly impressive 9.9 –

GOOGLE AND HOLIDAYCHECK

As of 24 May 2026, Pickalbatros Portofino Vita scored a superb rating of 4.8 out of a maximum of five based on 1,426 Google Reviews (unchanged on June 2025) and it also achieved an equally sky high rating of 5.8 on Holidaycheck.de out of a maximum six stars based on 1,304 ratings, with a stunning 99% of reviewers declaring that they would recommend the hotel with the following scores out of a maximum of six for the various categories – highest first. The results for June 2025 follow afterwards in brackets. Notice how the hotel has improved on its already impressive 2025 results in both in the gastronomy and sport and entertainment categories.
