The hotel where Jaz Lamaya is located, first opened twenty one years ago in 2005, although it was previously known as Iberotel Lamaya.
ROOMS
389 comprising 52 Superior rooms, 134 Superior family rooms, 201 Deluxe family rooms, and 2 Junior suites. 32 rooms are connecting. Room sizes are as follows.
ROOM FACILITIES
Sea or garden view, individually controlled air conditioning, direct dial telephone, satellite LCD television, mini fridge, safe, hairdryer, kettle, private bathroom with shower and a spacious balcony with two arm chairs and a table. The junior suites have a separate living area with a partial sea view in addition to the master bedroom.

LOCATION
At Coraya Bay, 5 km from Marsa Alam Airport and 73 km north of the town of Marsa Alam. It’s also located just 150 metres from the new Coraya Aquapark open daily between 10 am and 5pm with a lunchtime break between 12 noon to 1.30 pm when the huge water slides are switched off. Steven’s Taxis are, as of June 2025, offering special rates on transfers between the airport and the resort.

Don’t rely on the WiFi
Jaz Lamaya has absolutely superb reviews online, but in the past, the internet connection was rated just a tiny bit lower than the rest of the hotel’s near-perfect services and facilities (see the reviews section below). While the hotel’s WiFi has steadily improved over time, getting a local SIM card is still a great way to ensure total peace of mind. A personal data plan guarantees you stay connected seamlessly, whether you are relaxing in your room or exploring outside the resort.

HOTEL FACILTIES
The main buffet restaurant has a terrace overlooking the bay, and there is also a beach bar and restaurant, the Seahorse, serving seafood, pasta and other options including vegetarian dishes as well as a wide variety of alcoholic beverages (their menu here). There are also three other bars by the lobby (Miro’s Lobby Terrace), by the swimming pool (Twisty) and on the roof (Breeze Roof bar) with panoramic views of the seashore and finally you can find other eating options within walking distance within the surrounding Madinat Coraya complex of hotels.
There are also three swimming pools (two heated during winter), a laundry, room service, complimentary sauna, steam bath, jacuzzi, gym and massage at extra cost; archery, darts, tennis courts, table tennis, basketball and beach volleyball; animation activities, a kid’s club and a separate children’s swimming pool and a diving centre.
There’s also a fully equipped conference hall which can fit 150 guests for a cocktail, or seat 100 people theatre style or 50 to eat. Please contact the hotel regarding the cost of renting an overhead projector, screen etc.

Jaz Lamaya has an enviable reputation on Tripadvisor, ranking 9th out of 177 properties in the Marsa Alam area in terms of best value and 14th out of 117 in terms of Tripadvisor’s traveller rankings based on 4th out of 178 properties in the Marsa Alam area in terms of best value and 18th out of 178 in terms of Tripadvisor’s traveller rankings based on 5,737 reviews, as of 17 May 2026.
Satisfaction levels are impressively high – with 93.3% of Tripadvisor reviewers rating the resort as either ‘excellent’ or ‘very good’ and only 2.1% rated the hotel as either ‘poor’ or ‘terrible’ – please see the table below to compare with results from previous years.

Meanwhile on Booking.com, as of 17 May 2026, Jaz Lamaya had achieved a highly impressive “superb” rating of 9.3 out of 10 based on 900 reviews. Unfortunately I could not find ratings for any specific hotel categories such as staff or cleanliness listed, but I’m listing below the ratings for last year in June 2025, which at the time showed the following scores for the various categories – highest first.

Please note that while there are near perfect scores for staff, cleanliness, comfort and location, the rating for wifi lagged slightly behind. Although the situation had improved already improved as of June 2025 and may have improved again significantly in recent months, I would still suggest you consider buying a sim card for internet and telephone calls on arrival at the airport, which can also be used outside your resort. GOOGLE AND HOLIDAYCHECK
The resort also scores exceptionally well on Google. As of 17 May 2026, Jaz Lamaya was rated at a difficult to beat 4.8 out of 5 based on over nine thousand reviews (9,317). That impressive performance was also mirrored on Holidaycheck, where the resort scored a very competitive 5.7 out of 6 stars (as of 7 June 2025), and also based on a huge number of reviews – 6,251, with almost everyone – 96% – recommending the resort. The resort attained the following scores out of a maximum of six for the various categories – highest first.
Compared to two years ago in 2024, the 2026 scores reflect improvements in the overall score (edging up even higher from 5.6 to 5.7) as well as an even better performance in the service, rooms and gastronomy categories.
