As of 28 February 2021, on Tripadvisor Brayka Bay Resort was ranked at 25th out of 76 hotels in the Marsa Alam region, which was a respectable achievement and given the low volume of tourism probably doesn’t represent any significant shift since it was ranked at 14th out of 66 hotels when we last checked in 2019 (05.03.2019) or at 21st in 2018 (21.01.2018).
Guest satisfaction was also reasonably reassuring. 84% of guests had a “very good” or “excellent” experience, down slightly from 88% in March 2019, but an improvement on January 2018 when it stood at 82%. More encouraging, the proportion of reviews rating the hotel as either “poor” or “terrible” has dropped to just 2.4% (as of February 2021), down from 3.5% in March 2019 and 4.5% in January 2018.
The HolidayCheck.de ratings, as of 28 February 2021, were impressive and saw continued improvements in several categories compared with previous years. The hotel’s overall score reached a new high of 5.3 out of a maximum six stars, compared with 5.1 in March 2019 and 5.0 in January 2018. The best categories were in service at 5.5 (up from 5.1 in March 2019) and location at 5.4 (unchanged), followed by sport and entertainment at 5.2 (up from 5.0), rooms at 5.1 (a leap upwards from 4.6) and gastronomy at 5.0 – a huge improvement from the 4.4 rating scored in March 2019. The proportion of guests who would recommend the hotel reached 94%, compared to 90% the previous three times we had checked (January 2017, January 2018 and March 2019) and 88% way back in September 2016.
