The former Magic Tulip Resort is now known as Casa Blue Resort and the former Royal Tulip is now known as Casa Mare Resort.
Casa Blue has quickly earned itself a superb reputation as possibly the best resort in Marsa Alam with, as 10 May 2026, a #1 ranking out of 117 hotels in terms of popularity based on 1,799 Tripadvisor ratings. Casa Mare also does very well on Tripadvisor ranking at #19 in terms of popularity out of 117 hotels based on 4,597 reviews. More on guest reviews later.
Either choice presents you with one of Marsa Alam’s best hotels with excellent service, good food, a clean beach and, for those who wish to walk off the calories, a romantic jetty – almost one kilometre long – stretching out across the coral reef.

For Casa Blue Resort – all the usual frills such as air conditioning, walk-in shower, fridge and 32 inch satellite tv plus safety deposit box, direct dial telephone and according to Tripadvisor (as of 16.09.24) the rooms are also “allergy free” with a “whirlpool bathtub” ! 1. CASA BLUE RESORT GUEST REVIEWS

Casa Blue’s achievement as of 10 May 2026 on Tripadvisor is amazing. Renovated from the former Royal Tulip Beach, which back in March 2021 had a slightly above average ranking of 28th out of 77, the resort now stands 1st out of 117 hotels in terms of popularity based on 1,799 Tripadvisor ratings. Moreover it has a jaw dropping average of 4.9 out of 5.0 bubbles – – Virtually perfect! 98.9% of reviewers ranked the hotel as either “excellent” or “very good” and less than 1 per cent (0.6%) rated the hotel as “poor” or “terrible”.

Meanwhile on Booking.com, as of 10 May 2026, Casa Blue Resort scored an exceptional 9.7 rating (down just a fraction from a perfect 10 in June 2025) based on only 20 reviews with the scores out of a maximum of 10 for the various categories shown below – highest first. These are followed by the 5 June 2025 ratings in brackets. The previous ratings were based on even fewer review ratings (17).
GOOGLE AND HOLIDAYCHECK
As of 10 May 2026, Casa Blue Resort had obtained a superb result of 4.8 out of 5 on Google Reviews based on 1,176 reviews, with the rating unchanged compared to the previous time I checked on 5 June 2025.
Meanwhile on Holidaycheck.de the resort scored an even more impressive 5.8 out of a maximum six stars (as of 10 May 2026), based on 453 reviews. A reassuring 97% of reviewers said that they would recommend the hotel with the scores shown below out of a maximum of six for the various categories – highest first. Earlier results, as of 5 June 2025, are given in brackets afterwards.
TRIP.COM
As of 10 May 2026, Casa Blue Resort’s rating on Trip.com reflected closely the result on Holidaycheck with an “Amazing” rating of 9.7 out of 10 but based on only 37 reviews (unchnaged compared with June 2025), with the same 9.7 score in all four categories of cleanliness, amenities, location and service.
OTHER RANKINGS
As of 10 May 2026, Casa Blue Resort had a rating of 9.4 out of 10 on Expedia (up from 9.0 in June 2025) but based on ONLY 3 reviews, and had an excellent 9.8 rating on Trivago (up from 9.7 in June 2025).
2. CASA MARE GUEST REVIEWS
TRIPADVISOR
Also as of 11 May 2026, Casa Mare Resort was rated on Tripadvisor at a highly reputable 19th out of 117 places to stay based on its popularity or traveller review ranking. In terms of its bubble rating it couldn’t quite match the 4.9 score of its neighbour Casa Blue, but it still obtained an impressive average Tripadvisor rating of 4.7 out of 5 bubbles, with 92.7% rating it as either “very good” or “excellent” and just 2.9% as either “poor” or “terrible.”

Meanwhile on Booking.com, as of 11 May 2026, Casa Mare Resort couldn’t equal the “exceptional” 10.0 rating of Casa Blue, but it still achieved an astonishingly impressive rating of 9.6 (only just short of its near perfect 9.8 score on 6 June 2025) out of 10 based on 140 reviews with the following scores given below for the various categories – highest first. The ratings for 6 June 2025 cited within brackets for comparison.
GOOGLE AND HOLIDAYCHECK
As of 11 May 2026, Casa Mare Resort scored an admirable rating of 4.7 out of a maximum of five (unchanged since June 2025) based on 2,841 reviews (up from 1,785 Google Reviews in June 2025). It also achieved a respectable rating of 5.4 on Holidaycheck.de out of a maximum six stars (also unchanged on June 2025) based on 6,437 ratings (up from 5,830) with 93% of reviewers (percentage unchanged) declaring that they would recommend the hotel with the following scores out of a maximum of six for the various categories – highest first. The figures for June 2025 follow in brackets. You will notice improvements in both the room and gastronomy categories, with the other ratings remaining the same.

As of 11 May 2026, Casa Mare Resort achieved an excellent 9.5 rating on Trip.com, but based on only 51 reviews, with a 9.5 score for three categories of cleanliness, amenities and service and a fractionally lower score of 9.4 for location.
